Welcome to Young'uns Summer Cooperative!
Young'uns Summer Cooperative (YSC) provides quality, affordable enrichment program for children between 18 months and 3.5 years of age** in the District of Columbia. In partnership with District of Columbia's Department of Parks and Recreation, our program offers summer learning opportunities for children who may not meet the age requirements of many summer programs in the area. Our organization is private and parent-led.

Summer co-op is now called The Sequoia School (Child Care and Early Learning Center)! As some of your know, our summer co-op program has been growing every year, starting with just one location in 2016 (enrolling 13 children) and expanding to four locations by 2019 (enrolling nearly 50 children). To sustain this growth, the Sequoia School, as Young'uns Summer Co-op's successor organization, is now a full service child care center / nursery school operating year round. Summer co-op has been cancelled due to coronavirus. We will refund both the seat deposit and tuition payment in their entirety next week. If you paid by PayPal, I will send your refund via the same method. If you paid by check, I will mail out a check to you by USPS. Thank you all and please stay safe.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, our parent meeting will be postponed to the following dates:
* Macomb co-op will meet at Macomb Rec Center on Saturday, May 16 at 1 PM.
* Hamilton co-op will meet at Hamilton Rec Center on Sunday, May 17 at 1 PM.

We are very close to securing the classrooms from DPR for summer co-op 2020. Selma and I are just waiting to hear back from DPR about one site that may or may not undergo renovation during the summer, in which case, that site would be off the table. We are hoping to get confirmation by the end of the week. Sorry about the delay and thank you for your patience.

Hello parents. Selma and I are negotiating with DPR to reserve the classrooms for summer co-op 2020. Our goal is to finalize the reservation with DPR by the end of January 2020 and then start accepting applications the first week of February 2020. When we receive confirmation from DPR, we will have an updated application for enrollment added to this website. Until then, the content of the summer co-op website will be from summer 2019.
